Welcome to the Town of Prospect’s website. Prospect is a small town with a population of approximately 720 and is located between Stockton Springs and Frankfort. The town office is located at the corner of Route 174 and Hawes Bridge Road behind the Prospect Fire Station which is in the same building.
Please remember to have your trash out by 7:00am for guaranteed trash pickup on Thursday by Pinkertons.
*** Town Election & Town Meeting ***
Nomination papers will be available at the town office on January 20th, 2026 for the following positions.
- 1 year term: Select Board Official, overseer of the poor, and Assessor.
- 3 year term: Select Board Official, overseer of the poor, and Assessor.
- 3 year RSU #25 School Representative / Board Member.
Nomination papers are due back to the office by March 3, 2026 by 7PM.
25 signatures required to be placed on the ballot.
Town Election date is May 1st, 8:00AM – 8:00PM
Town Meeting date is May 2nd at 10:00AM

This is an update regarding the fundraising effort for an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
for the Prospect Community Club. Thanks to your generosity, we have raised $1,100!
We are pleased to announce that we will soon purchase the AED with the funds raised. Fire
Chief Dave Terry has discovered that we can acquire the AED through the ambulance service
at a better price. You achieved this goal in just two months—well done, everyone!
Suppah can be a little hard on the heart—no pun intended!
Winterport, and Frankfort, is out of business due to a lack of funds. Many newspapers are facing
similar challenges in this transition. Unfortunately, the only sustainable way moving forward is to
operate digitally. As Ann Ronco stated in her article from November/December 2025, “The
discontinuation is not due to a lack of interest, but a lack of funds.” Thank you, Ann Ronco, for
